Day 4: Monday
Today was Padi's birthday. Jim and Ryland went off shopping for her in the morning. Padi, Alan, and Karen
went for a walk to see a bit of the area outside the resort (!). We went to the Versailles Gardens and the
Cloisters, which have been restored after falling into disrepair for many years. After our walk, we all
went on a catamaran trip on the Flying Cloud. Padi and Ryland were dropped off at a deserted beach on Rose Island
with a few others and the rest of us went snorkling on a reef area about 400 yards out from that island.
The water was clear and the reef was beautiful with many kinds of coral and fish. After returning, we
celebrated Padi's birthday with gifts (including a celestial conjunction of the moon and Venus that we
planned just for her) and then we had an excellent dinner in Hall of the Great Waters at Atlantis.
