Images from 2003

us reflected in a christmas ornament Welcome to the photo gallery that accompanies our Christmas letter. We hope you enjoy the pictures of what we've been up to during 2003. Sorry, no photos of the office...

Alan thinks this picture is silly. I kind of have to agree. But so what?

In February, we had one of the biggest snowstorms in all our time on the East Coast. This interruped Alan's last days at GSFC, but he eventually finished his work and went to NASA Headquarters, where the dress code is not quite as relaxed.

Here's our deck after much of the snow had already fallen.

In March, we decided that we really didn't like powder blue and mauve as colors for our front hallway and dining room. So over a weekend, we painted.

A little more drama is always a good thing!

In May, Jim and Donna got married. The whole family was in town, though Alan had his most important meeting of the year so he missed the wedding but went to the reception. Hmmm... ;-)

The happy day!

In September, we visited Italy, with stays in Rome and Positano.

Two sides of Italy - the Colosseum in bustling Rome and our private balcony in Positano overlooking the Amalfi Coast and the blue Mediterranean Sea.

While we were away, Hurricane Isabel roared up the East Cost. Luckily our only loss was a large oak tree.

During the year, the Chromatics peformed 21 concerts which is not bad for a bunch of techies with day jobs. Selected images from those concerts show our many moods. karen and alan singing
